January has flown by this year. I usually dread this month (well I still do) but this year it flew by. We have been extra busy since returning from Mexico. Karson lost his first tooth the weekend after we returned. I left the house to go to Walgreens and I came home to find that Kerry had pulled out Karson's tooth. Kerry said he was extra brave and didn't even cry!!! I had a sad moment thinking to myself that my children are growing up way too fast...just another one of those milestones for us moms.
Kamryn has been busy as well. She started dance class this past week. I don't know who was more excited her or myself!!! Kamryn was way too sweet as she put on her leotard she said to me "mommy look I am a real princess." A far cry from her Lightning McQueen shirts!!! There might be hope afterall (just kidding). She seem to really enjoy dance. They do a combo class of ballet/tap.
As February nears we are looking forward to warmer temps as we can get outside and play. We are also looking forward to traveling to the QC for my cousins wedding. It will be wonderful to see family that we haven't seen in awhile.
More barre work for Kamryn and her classmates.

Kam doing her dance in class.

Kamryn doing barre work along with the rest of the class. As you can see she is the smallest one in her class...isn't too much of a surprise!! (She is the one with her hand in the air).

Karson after losing his first tooth!!!

This past month Kerry and I were able to take a trip with some couple friends of ours to Riveria Maya, Mexico. It was a much needed get away for both of us. We enjoyed swimming, great meals and drinks, walks on the beach, days spent at the spa!!! However, Kerry got sick on day three and was sick until after returning home. He was a trooper and did everything that we wanted to do. It was a very enjoyable trip and hard to come back to the cold. My parents were gracious enough to take the kids for the week. They enjoyed time rolling skating (even though my mom broke her arm...poor thing), going the the movies, snowmobiling and just plain playing at grammy's and papa's!!!

Kerry and I enjoying some "quiet" time together in Mexico!

The mess that comes along with winter!!!! And you can't forget that under all of those clothes are usually piles of sand!!! Can I say "thank you Minnesota." Gotta love it!!!!

Kamryn as "Oscar."

Kamryn getting the mail!!!

With the snow that blessed us before the frigid temperatures came lot's of fun. The road in front of our home is not very busy so Karson, the neighbor boys and Kamryn all had fun sledding down the embankments, building forts & snowmen. Unfortunatly, shortly after these pictures were taken the temps fell below zero and stayed there for a good 2 1/2 weeks!!! Now the snow is crusty and hard to play in.

-November-
As we approach Thanksgiving I think about all of the things I am thankful for...family & friends, my health, my loving husband and wonderful children!! It just amazes me how fast my children are growing up. The other night at the dinner table we asked who wanted to pray and Karson said that he wanted to pray (which is not his thing). It brought tears to my eyes to hear the things that were truely important to him. Parenting is never an easy thing but when you hear those types of things you have to tell yourself that you must be doing something right!!!
November has turned out to be a wonderful month. Kerry and I were able to go to Kinnick to watch the Hawkeyes. We had fun even though they lost...a real bummer. We are also going this next weekend and will be on the field which I am very excited about!!! The kids are doing great. Kamryn turned 3 on the 16th. We celebrated early with family. It was fun to watch her this year. She really understood that it was "her" day!!!
Karson is of course looking forward to Christmas as I am sure many of your children are too. It was a wonderful time of year!!! Enjoy it!!!!

Happy Third Birthday Kamryn!!! I can hardly believe that you are 3 already. Boy how the time has flown by.

Kamryn was really excited to blow out her candles on her cake! I love the look on her face.

Kamryn wearing her new McQueen slippers. She wears them all of the time!!!

-October-
It was a very crummy month here in Minnesota. We didn't get too much of a fall for the snow fell way too soon. The leaves weren't even given a chance to change before the snow fell. Of course Kamryn and Karson were loving the snow as mom was thinking "this is going to be a very long winter." We still tried to do our annual fall festivities!!! We made our ghost cookies, went to the pumpkin patch (however it was a different one this year and I wasn't impressed), and of course dressed up and went trick-or-treating. It was very cold on Halloween so we only went down our rode and then over to grandma & grandpa Lindsay's. This year Karson decided that he wanted to be a Lego. So mom worked on his costume and it turned out pretty well for a lego. Kamryn she wanted to be Lightning McQueen and for the life of me and Grandma Dee we couldn't find one. Then I ran into an old friend and we were talking about what the kids were going to be for halloween and long and behold she had a McQueen costume. Kamryn loved it and didn't want to give it back!!!
It was a fun month!!!!

Kamryn at the Harvest Festival dressed as McQueen!
Now it that we had found our pumpkins it was time to crave them. It was a cool chilly day but we decided to start the craving outside. The kiddos got cold so we moved inside. I always find it funny that the kids are so excited to crave their pumpkins and then they last about 10 minutes and mom is left with craving the rest of the pumpkins. Karson wanted Darth Vader and Kamryn wanted a kitty. It was really hard finding Darth Vader so I did what I could.

-September 2009-
Karson started his last year of preschool. He is currently going to Trinity Nursery School 4 days a week from 12:00-2:30. After a long debate Kerry and I decided that it was be in Karson's best interest if he waited one extra year before heading to kindergarten. Boy, do I feel like we made the right decision. I have seen so much growth in him in the last couple of months it is unbelieveable. He coming home reading sight words and doing simple math problems. I love watching him grow yet at times it is sad to me how fast he is growing up.
His preschool class took a field trip to a local nature center. It was really neat to watch the his class and how they interact with one another.
Kamryn she is also growing up way too fast. She is not a "girly" girl at all. In fact, right now her favorite things are McQueen and Sally from the movie Cars. She adores her big brother and follows in his foot-steps. If she keeps the personality she has now she won't take NO for an answer. She is such a sweet little girl but boy can she hold her own!!!

Sorry, it has been ages since I have last updated this blog. I got a new camera and couldn't figure out how to download my pictures and then get them on the site. I have finally figured out how to do all of that good stuff!!! I can't get over the fact that we are a couple of weeks away from the month of September...WOW!!! where has the summer gone??? We have highly enjoyed our summer months. The days have consisted of a lot of bike rides (Karson does great he can ride 3-4 miles without complaining once), trips to the park, ball games and the waterpark! It has been a really fun summer and I am not ready for it to end.
Karson will begin the five-year-old preschool program at Trinity on September 8th. I think he is excited to go, but a little nervous not really knowing anyone in his class. He will do a great job!
As for Kamryn, I really haven't decided what I am going to do this fall. I overextended myself this last year and was never home. I have decided that this is my last year that I can really be home, so I am not sure if I am going to do MOPS or mommy/me classes. We will have to see what happens. I really want to enjoy my time at home! I will try really hard in the next couple of months to keep up on the family blog!

Karson really enjoyed the turtle slide at the waterpark!

We have a new water park here in Owatonna. We were very excited to have it come since we had nowhere to go on those hot, summer days. Both kids really enjoy the zero depth pool and lazy river. Kamryn is definatly our little fish!!!

Kamryn loving her goats!!

We decided to go to a "free" Zoo (with Minnesota animals only) with some friends one afternoon. The kiddos had a terrific time running around checking out all of the animals and things to do.

Kamryn enjoying the summer weather.

While mowing the lawn on sunny afternoon I lifted up the end of a gutter to find a new friend...a toad. Kamryn took a liking to the toad right away and gave him the name of "toey." Karson was not home at the time but I knew that he would want to see the toad so Kam and I put him in a bucket until Karson got home. In the mean time Kamryn decided to carry around the bucket with her new found friend!!!! Once Karson got home and was able to see the toad we decided to let him go in the lot next door. Karson was so sweet telling the toad to go back with its family.

"A CONVERSATION WITH KAMRYN!"
I was snuggling with Kamryn the other night before bed and like many other 21/2 year olds she was asking a lot of questions. Here is the actual conversation.
"Mommy, you sing Jesus lobes me?" "Yes, Kamryn mommy will sing Jesus loves you." "Jesus, he lobe me?" "Yes, Kamryn Jesus loves you very much."
"Jesus, He lobe grammy, papa, Avery (and the list goes on and on). "Yes, Kamryn Jesus loves all of those people."
"Mommy, where is the funder? (Thunder that is...it had stormed the night before). "Well, the thunder is in the sky." "Why is it in the sky?" "Who make the funder?" "God makes it thunder Kamryn." And the conversation ended with such a funny question. "Mommy, where is God's mom?"
I just adore some of the things my kids say. They are just way too funny. Another side note. The other night we were out driving and Kamryn asked, "Mommy, who turned out the lights?" Needless to say my kids aren't usually outside after it is dark!!
